Our Programmes
Our project—running from January 2024 to June 2025 and funded by Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)—aims to improve household food security, nutrition, and socioeconomic empowerment in Gem and Rarieda sub-counties in Siaya County, Kenya.
In this project, we are supporting smallholder farmers with essential inputs and training, empowering them to produce and commercialize fortified sorghum flour and porridges that are both nutritious and affordable.
The Soil for Life initiative, also known as Udongo Kwa Maisha (UKM), reflects Ndaloh Heritage Organisation's commitment to empowering communities through sustainable agricultural practices. By promoting natural and regenerative farming methods, the initiative helps local farmers enhance soil health, increase crop yields, and reduce reliance on costly external inputs.
Aligned with our mission, Soil for Life collaborates with Ndaloh Heritage Trust - Kenya to share expertise in natural food growing. Through training and support, we help communities adopt sustainable practices that contribute to their long-term self-sufficiency and environmental stewardship.
Our Nurturing Care Programme is designed to support the overall development of children during the first 1,000 days of life, while providing essential care for their mothers, ensuring that children and mothers receive care necessary for a healthy and thriving future.
Our programme not only focuses on the physical health of children but also their emotional, cognitive, and social development, integrating health services, nutrition, responsive caregiving, early learning opportunities, and safety.
The Green Legacy Initiative is dedicated to environmental stewardship and the sustainable development of our communities.
The initiative focuses on four key areas: protection of catchment areas, establishment of community tree nurseries, restoration of degraded forests, and greening schools.
NHO Youth Mentorship
The Ndaloh Heritage Organization's youth mentorship program is an initiative designed to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to drive positive change in our communities.
We focus on environmental conservation, job-readiness, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and leadership encouraging youth to become advocates for social equity and community development
4K Clubs Programme
Ndaloh is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of young Kenyans through agriculture, agribusiness, and healthy living in 4K Clubs in Kisumu and Siaya Counties.
Our initiatives in schools include garden competitions and engaging events like the Music Festival Gala. These activities provide students with valuable experiences that enhance their understanding of sustainability and health.
Additionally, the 4K Clubs help instill an appreciation for farming and sustainable living through environmental stewardship, self-reliance, and long-term food security that will benefit future generations.
