Grand Challenges Canada (GCC)/ Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Funded Project.

In pursuit of a healthy and economically independent Siaya community, Ndalo Heritage offers a holistic, grassroot approach that bridges the gap between nutrition, public health, agricultural systems, and food value chains. The Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) and Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) funded project intends to reach over 2000 vulnerable households through hands-on training, sorghum field days and value chains marketing that is both socially and gender inclusive. The intended medium- term impact of the project is to decrease malnutrition rates for the at-risk beneficiaries (i.e. wasting in children below five years of age, iron deficiency anemia and underweight among women of reproductive age as well as zinc deficiency for men and person living with disability).
